Dr Sarah Barns
Sarah’s work today builds on a 20-year career in public policy and strategy working across technology, media and the arts. Today, Sarah collaborates widely with partners and clients to deliver sustainable and creative urban strategies for connected places. Her work is motivated by the values of inclusion and participatory media, and her love of collaboration with diverse teams of awesome creative and passionate people.
Between 2014-6 she held a smart cities fellowship supported by the UK Urban Studies Foundation and Western Sydney University, which enabled her to gain insights into smart city strategy challenges across a number of UK and US cities. She has advised a wide range of public and private organisations including CSIRO Urban Living Labs, Data61, Arup, Sydney Airport Corporation, City of Liverpool and City of Parramatta, among others.
